What is an initial inspection?
A preliminary Home Inspection is performed by an authorized inspector. The Initial Inspection determines which specific improvements are recommended for the home, if any.
What is a final inspection?
The concluding Inspection is performed by an authorized inspector. The final inspection is used to document the improvements that were successfully completed on the home.
How does the funding for inspections break down?
$550,732 was set aside for new homeowners to apply for an initial home inspection. This funding provides for 3,442 initial inspections.
What changes are being implemented after the first week of the new round of funding?
The MSFH Program has paused new inspection applications.
How long will the Program continue to take applications for grants?
Grant funding is still available, and we anticipate continuing to accept grant applications through August.

Is an application for an inspection the same as an application for a grant?
No, these are two separate applications. Applying for an inspection does not automatically qualify you for a grant. The grant is a new application based on information generated by the inspection.
