New Roofs and the MSFH Program

THINKING ABOUT A NEW ROOF?
Here’s How the MSFH Program Can Help.

The MY SAFE FLORIDA HOME PROGRAM Can Help Qualified Howners Offset the Cost of Getting a NEW—STRONGER Roof.

FOLLOW THE 3 STEPS BELOW TO GET A NEW ROOF

1

Get Your FREE Wind Mitigation Inspection

Before anything else, you must apply for and complete a FREE MSFH wind-mitigation inspection.

This professional inspection identi-fies what upgrades your home needs to better withstand hurricanes — including whether it qualifies for a Secondary Water Resistence / Barrier (SWR).

2

Apply for the MSFH Grant

Once your inspection is complete and you’ve been approved for a grant (up to $10,000), you can decide which eligible improvements to move forward with — including roof work.

3

Choose Your Upgrades

  • Talk to your insurance agent
  • Talk to your local Florida contractor

You choose your upgrade:

  • Roof-to-deck attachments
  • Secondary Water barrier
  • New roofing shingles required to complete the job

AVERAGE COST OF SHINGLE ROOF

$15,090 – $28,110

Pensacola, Jacksonville, Miami, Melbourne, Tampa, Naples

The maximum MSFH grant is $10,000. Most full roof replacements cost more—but the grant can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expense.

A new roof is one of the smartest home investments you can make. It protects your home and may lower your insurance premiums.

Florida law allows insurance companies to cancel policies on homes with roofs over 15 years old. Replacing an aging roof can help protect your coverage.
